Marico Highlights Transparency of New Nihar Almond Hair Oil in Ultra-Clear PP Bottles Featuring Milliken’s Millad® NX8000 Clarifier

India’s Marico Ltd., a global leader in beauty and wellness products, chose polypropylene (PP) clarified with Millad® NX8000 agent from Milliken & Company, to create ultra-clear bottles for its new Nihar Naturals™ almond-scented hair oil. The company wanted an exceptionally clear plastic that would showcase the beautiful transparency and purity of the oil, but wished to avoid a large investment in equipment and tools required to mold polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. Marico focused on PP because its molder already used the resin; however, the company sought an advanced clarifying agent to deliver a superior level of transparency. Collaboration among Marico, Milliken and resin manufacturer Lyondell Basell led to successful development of a Millad NX8000-clarified PP grade and production of attractive bottles with minimal capital investment.
