Milliken Attends IPACK-IMA 2015
Milliken & Company’s chemical division will feature its standard-setting polyolefin additives at IPACK-IMA 2015 in Milan, Italy, May 19-23, 2015. The event will host the world’s leading suppliers of technology and materials in a location that attracts visitors from all over the globe.
IPACK-IMA is the largest exhibition for processing, packaging, converting, and logistics in the plastics industry. Over 1,300 exhibitors from 35 countries showcase their products to a growing audience of visitors and buyers from over 11,000 global companies. This year’s attendance is expected to top 66,000 visitors.
With an emphasis on sustainable packaging at the forefront of IPACK-IMA 2015, Milliken will showcase its UltraClear PP, which creates polypropylene products that promote energy efficiency due to application at lower temperatures plus easier recyclability.
Clarified with Millad® NX™ 8000, UltraClear PP sets new standards for beauty, functionality, flexibility, and recyclability.
UltraClear PP’s exceptional aesthetics and low weight potential brings abundant possibilities to sheet extrusion and thermoforming. The product’s excellent heat resistance also offers solutions for the food packaging industry, expanding options for microwaveability and hot-fill capacity.
Proven statistics support UltraClear PP’s productivity improvements, energy savings, low carbon footprint, and cost efficiency compared to alternative plastics. Samples at Milliken’s booth will demonstrate UltraClear PP’s 17.8% weight saving compared to PET based food trays, with possibilities to produce 70 trays from 1 kilogram of polypropylene compared with 57 trays from 1 kilogram of PET.
ClearShield® Colorless UV Absorbers create outstanding UV protection for PET. ClearShield® extends the shelf life of packaged materials and protects brand image for food, beverages, and consumer products. The product is also approved for food contact applications by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and overcomes the deficiencies of traditional technologies, including unwanted color, migration, bloom. and plate-out.
