Milliken Shares Benefits of UltraClear PP

Milliken & Company representatives spent time in Houston, Texas, and Birmingham, U.K., last week, sharing our latest advancements and innovative products for the polyolefin industry.

The South Texas section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) held its annual International Polyolefins Conference in Houston February 21-24. The conference featured a number of educational sessions, ranging in topics from antioxidant technology to food contact compliance. Milliken Chemical R&D Manager for Plastic Additives Keith Keller led a session titled Creating Value in Polyolefins Through Performance Additives.

Across the pond, more than 6,500 professionals gathered for Packaging Innovations 2016 on February 24 and 25 in Birmingham, U.K. In addition to the exhibition of leading packaging companies, the show featured seminars, live debates, and one-on-one packaging consultations.

At both events, Milliken representatives were on hand, sharing the versatile packaging applications of UltraClear PP. UltraClear PP is quickly becoming the preferred choice for food packaging, combining the lightweight and recyclable properties of polypropylene with the glass-like transparency traditionally found only in materials such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polystyrene (PS). Behind this stunning clarity is Milliken’s Millad® NX™ 8000, a high performing additive, and the new standard in clear food packaging.

UltraClear PP is ideal for food storage containers, cups, clamshells, trays, bottles, and much more. Heat resistant, microwaveable, and BPA-free, UltraClear PP can be used for both hot and cold applications, and is lighter, thinner, and stronger than other materials traditionally used for similar applications.
