Transparent packaging brings clarity to shopping
Consumers increasingly want to see what they’re buying – whether that’s food, a beverage or some other type of product. Research indicates a strong trend toward transparent and convenient, user-friendly food packaging.
Milliken is helping brands to realize this goal via polypropylene made fully transparent through use of its Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifier. The resulting material — known as NX™ UltraClear PP — allows polypropylene to replace resins such as PET and polystyrene in a wide range of thermoformed and thin-wall injection molded packaging applications.
IML specialist Verstraete is bringing additional value to this scenario, with its highly transparent, in-mold labels that can be used in conjunction with UltraClear PP to maximize product visibility.
A recent third-party consumer study by C+R Research indicated that more than 80% of consumers would choose fresh prepared meals packaged in a microwavable, thermoformed container made with NX™ UltraClear PP compared to conventional PP containers and non-microwaveable PET containers.
The trend is clear. To learn more, visit us at Interpack in Düsseldorf (Hall 10, Stand C32) or check us out online at:www.millikenchemical.com/interpack.
