Here at NPE 2012, in booth #25023, Milliken & Company is highlighting the environmental benefits of its advanced clarifying, nucleating and reinforcing technologies, which can help molders and OEMs reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in processing and end-use applications. Due to its superior solubility in polypropylene (PP), Milliken’s Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifying agent allows molders to reduce processing temperatures by as much as 40 degrees while achieving exceptional aesthetics. Benefits include reduced power usage and shorter cycle times from faster part cooling. Milliken’s new synthetic reinforcing agent, Hyperform® HPR-803i, is an ideal option for polyolefin applications requiring low weight, high stiffness and good scratch performance. In automotive applications, HPR-803i creates opportunities for light weight vehicles, helping automakers reduce emissions and improve fuel economy. Milliken’s Hyperform® HPN-20E nucleating agent for PP and polyethylene can cut cycle times and associated power demands thanks to its very rapid crystallization performance, which allows faster demolding.
