AFM provides active fluid movement rather than the passive absorption seen in traditional dressings. AFM dressings are crafted with special polymeric materials that preferentially move fluid to one side of the dressing. This pumping action does not diminish over time, thereby permitting less frequent dressing changes. Because AFM pumps away excess fluid throughout the indicated wear time of the dressing, our dressings can help reduce maceration.
AFM dressings maintain a small amount of fluid at the surface to promote moist wound healing. AFM dressings allow clinicians to take a proactive approach to wound care by optimizing moisture balance and helping to prevent maceration.
AFM® Ag is effective on many types of wounds, including those most difficult to heal, such as venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and post-surgical incisions. AFM Ag is easy to apply and remove. It is soft and flexible for greater patient comfort and range of motion.

AFM® Ultra dressings combine the pumping action of Active Fluid Management® technology with a highly absorptive foam layer to provide an optimal wound healing environment. Designed for multi-day use, AFM Ultra dressings are well suited for use with compression therapy and for use on highly exuding wounds such as diabetic, venous and pressure ulcers.
