Phillips 66 Launches New COPYLENE™ Clarified PP Grades Using Milliken Additives
October 30, 2012
Here at PACK EXPO 2012, booth #4759, Milliken & Company today announced that Phillips 66, a top global producer of polyolefins, has developed six new grades of COPYLENE™ polypropylene (PP) featuring Milliken’s Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifying agent or Hyperform® HPN-600ei nucleating agent.
These innovative injection molding, blow molding and thermoforming PP grades offer converters and processors improved aesthetics, lower processing temperatures for energy savings and faster cycle times, and the ability to create improved part-to-part product consistency. From a business perspective, these enhanced PP grades are enabling Phillips 66 to target new markets, such as pharmaceutical vials and thin-wall, single-use drink cups. Some of these applications are on display at Milliken’s booth at Pack Expo. This collaboration is the latest milestone in the longstanding, productive relationship between Phillips 66 and Milliken.
